Job description: Experienced Electrical Lead or Journeyman,

Seeking a full-time, professional, motivated individual looking for long-term career growth in the green energy industry. Main duties include preparing or installing interior and exterior light fixtures and systems. Experience managing a team of 2-6 people. Must be focused on customer service, quality of workmanship, integrity, and safety.

Must meet the following qualifications:

  • Lead and coordinate electrical crews on various lighting retrofit projects, ensuring timely completion of tasks

  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems, including high voltage, low voltage, and control wiring, in accordance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards

  • Be able to represent him or herself in a professional manner at all times in written and oral communications, and in appearance.

  • Familiarity with lockout tagout and other safety procedures.

  • OSHA 30 certified or willing to get it.

  • Help others build their careers.

  • Have a valid driver's license.

  • Pass a drug test and background check.

  • Be able to work 1st, on occasion 2nd shift.

  • Be able to travel and stay overnight 25% of the time. (Expenses covered)

Compensation commensurate with experience. Training is provided, as well as a firm track for advancement and promotions. Company vehicle provided, 401k, PTO, and health benefits.

Job description: Lighting Retrofitter

Lighting Technician

The Lighting Technician is responsible for installing interior and exterior light fixtures and systems, under the guidance of an experienced electrician, along with requisite site preparation and post-completion cleanup activities. Taking direction from the Site Foreman, the Lighting Technician is responsible for achieving daily goals for production in a safe and professional manner.

Lighting Technicians are also responsible for escalating issues/challenges to Team Leads or the Site Foreman as they arise to accelerate resolution.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend daily production meetings at the beginning of each shift. Understand productivity expectations for the day.

  • Complete daily tasks in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Execute lighting fixture installations with a high degree of quality, in accordance with kW Efficiency standards (e.g., proper wiring installation, hanger installation, etc.).

  • Prep sites as required to ensure a safe working area (e.g., set up worksite lighting, set up and move ladders/scaffolding, cut master power, clear areas of debris, etc.)

  • Clean up areas as directed by the Site Foreman or Team Lead at the end of each shift, and upon completion of work in the area.

  • Escalate issues that may impact the ability to complete daily assignments in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Report on site conditions that differ from project plans (e.g., number of lighting fixtures, potential conflicts with customer operations, etc.).

  • As this role is highly visible to kW Efficiency’s customers, Lighting Technicians must always maintain a high degree of professionalism in behavior, appearance, and written and oral communications.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Relevant post-secondary technical education preferred.

  • Highly relevant experience may substitute for educational preferences.

  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of construction experience required, with preference for those with electrical/lighting experience.

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certified.

  • Must pass a Level 2 Background check and drug test.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Familiarity with proper electrical connection and installation techniques.

  • Strong technical and mechanical problem-solving aptitude.

KEY PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

  • Team productivity.

  • Site clean-up compliance.

  • Customer satisfaction.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position will primarily be located at client sites, which include a variety of commercial environments (e.g., offices, warehouses, industrial space, outdoor areas, etc.). It is estimated that over 50% of the time will be spent working at or travelling to client installation sites. Some exposure to the elements and seasonal temperature extremes may be required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Be able to work standing for a 10-hour shift.

  • Be able to perform routine and repetitive tasks, work easily and skillfully with hands, climb, and maintain balance on scaffolds or ladders.

  • Good eyesight (naturally or with correction) and the ability to distinguish different colors.

  • Reach for, handle, and grasp wires and hand tools.

  • Bending, crouching, and working in small places and atop high ladders and mechanical lifts.

  • Lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.

  • For office days, standard office demands (i.e., sitting, typing, etc.) would apply.

Proficient in spoken and written English. Authorized to work in the United States.
